What is a Ready-to-Plug (R2G) SONiC switch?▼

A Ready-to-Plug switch is a fully integrated solution that includes pre-installed Broadcom SONiC OS, validated transceivers/DACs, airflow/PSU configurations, and multi-year support — ready for immediate deployment with no extra integration work.

What's the difference between Broadcom SONiC and Community SONiC?▼

Broadcom SONiC is a commercial distribution with advanced features (like PTP, RoCEv2, Drop Monitor) and formal support. Community SONiC is open-source, community-driven, and ideal for labs or controlled environments. All R2G switches ship with Broadcom SONiC by default.

Do I need to load SONiC myself?▼

No. All R2G switches come preloaded with the Broadcom SONiC distribution. Configuration and versioning are validated before shipping.

What's included in the 3-year support package?▼

Level 1-3 support, firmware/software patches, hardware warranty, and optional upgrade premium 24x7 support. Premium support includes Broadcom escalation.

Can I use my own optics or cables?▼

Yes, but E.C.I. validates and guarantees compatibility only with our pre-certified optics and cables. Using ECIN-coded optics ensures plug-and-play operation across platforms including Cisco, Nokia, and Juniper.

What's the difference between standard and campus SONiC packages?▼

The Campus Package includes additional features such as PoE, LLDP-MED, 802.1X, dynamic ACLs, and enhanced RADIUS integration — ideal for enterprise access deployments.

Do these switches support AI and ML workloads?▼

Yes. 400G and 800G models support Broadcom's AI SONiC package with features like QPN-based ECMP, DLB, PFC, ECN, RoCEv2, and cut-through switching — optimized for RDMA and GPU-to-storage fabrics.

Can I manage these switches through APIs?▼

Absolutely. SONiC supports gNMI, REST, and NETCONF interfaces, and our R2G switches ship with full programmatic API access enabled (based on package tier).

Is there telemetry and flow visibility included?▼

Yes. The Broadcom base package includes BST (Buffer Snapshot Telemetry), and higher-tier packages support Inband Flow Analyzer (IFA 2.0), Tail Stamping, and Drop Monitor.

Can I upgrade to 5-year support or expand coverage?▼

Is the module compatible with all OLTs?▼

How do I check if the module is properly connected?▼

Does this module support SN and LOID authentication?▼

How do I enable Telnet and SSH?▼
